The Co-op is a proud supporter of many community events and activities! Some of the events below are located in our Co-op classroom, where we also offer health and wellness classes from Fall to Spring.
The classroom is available to rent for meetings, small parties or activities to the community (Co-op member-owners get a special rate). Stop by and check it out. We'd be happy to show you inside.

Fall 2014 Events Schedule
September 12th, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
There is nothing like a fresh batch of homemade kombucha using ingredients from your local coop. You can flavor it anyway you want and make it as sweet or not as you like. You are the one in control. In this workshop taught by Deanna of Unwound Botanicals learn how to maintain a SCOBY, learn valuable trouble shooting skills and tips for delicious Kombucha, tried and true recipes for tasty kombucha, sample tasty Kombuchas. ***Workshop has a $10 materials fee*** Pay at the register before you go to the class.

Isn’t interesting that something so simple can make such a big impact on how your cooking tastes? In this workshop taught by Deanna of Unwound Botanicals: You will learn how to make vinegar from scratch using ingredients from the Sno-isle Coop. Get to sample fresh homemade vinegars. Leave the workshop with a SCOBY. Recipes for herbal vinegars, salad dressings, and more. ***Workshop has a $10 materials fee*** Pay at the register before you go to the class.

Did you know that there was a type of drink called, “drinking vinegars,” also known as, “a shrub.” Shrubs are wonderful drink mixers that don’t need to be refrigerated. The sweet-and-sour syrup could be mixed with either water or soda water and served as a soft drink, or it could be used as a mixer in alcoholic cocktails. Let your imagination run wild. There are many ways to make these delicious aperitifs. In this workshop taught by Deanna of Unwound Botanicals: You learn how to make a shrub. They can be a delicious refreshing drink. Taste these refreshing drinks. Recipes for different kinds of shrubs. Make a shrub. Ginger Bug Class

Who would want to try a ginger bug? Actually, a ginger bug is a fermented homemade soda starter. In this workshop taught by Deanna of Unwound Botanicalsyou will learn how to make a ginger bug using basic ingredients sold in the Sno-Isle Coop. You will also sample homemade sodas, take home recipes for natural sodas and a ginger bug recipe, take home your very own ginger bug. ***Workshop has a $10 materials fee*** Pay at register before you go to the class.
Chocolate Truffles Class
October 10th, 2014 6:00-8:00pm
Have you ever wished your sweet tooth could be healthy and delicious? Fear not because in this workshop you will learn the art to making healthful chocolate truffles infused with herbs that you can purchase at your local co-op supply or local herb store. Taught by Deanna of Unwound Botanicalsthis workshop will help you understand how to: make chocolate truffles, know at least two herbs that are traditionally used to boost your immune system that you can purchase locally, understand the basics of herbal syrups and their many uses, taste and take home your very own handmade truffles, take home truffle recipe along with a shopping list. ***Workshop has a $10 materials fee*** Pay at the register before you go to the class.
