Certified B Corporation
On June 26, 2019, Sno-Isle Food Co-op became the only cooperative grocery store to be awarded a B Corporation® Certification.
B Corps™ are a new type of company that use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corp certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.
The Co-op was certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. In doing so, we have evaluated how our practices impact our employees, our community, the environment, and our customers.
Certification helps consumers identify companies with a mission, and helps investors select investments that align with their values. Be sure to look for the B Corp logo on products in store at the Co-op, to support other like-minded businesses.
Today, there are over 2,500 Certified B Corps around the globe, including Dr. Bronner’s, Yogi Tea, and Patagonia. We are proud to join them in redefining success in business, so that one day everyone uses business as a force for good!
Annual Report 2018
The following is Sno-Isle Food Co-op’s 2018 Annual Report. This Annual Report was modeled after the Co-op’s 10 year business plan built by the general management team. It includes our plans and actions for supporting the community, creating zero carbon footprint, and expansion plans.
As the Co-op grows, we will continue to gather metrics that will include waste measurements, donation records, local sales, and more! Thanks to the efforts of the Co-op’s Green Team, we look forward to many more detailed metrics in 2019. Until then, we invite you to reflect on our values we’ve shared in this year’s Annual Report.
