December Register Roundup: Garfield EATS
There is still plenty of time to support December’s Register Roundup Recipient, Garfield EATS. Here’s some information about this program from Garfield Principal, Kathleen Stilwell:
“At Garfield Elementary, every child receives free breakfast and lunch during the school day—but some of our students need extra support when school isn’t in session. For families that need that support, we send home a bag of food every Friday, so they have meals for the weekend.
Garfield Elementary, located in North Everett, is more than a school—it’s a caring community united by Tiger Pride. We believe in nurturing both the hearts and minds of our students so they can grow and achieve. Your donation goes directly toward providing groceries and essential supplies for those who need them most.
Together, we can ensure no child goes hungry. Thank you for helping us support our Tigers!”
This program may sound familiar to you. In November, our staff and volunteers organized a large give of holiday meal bags for 100 families in the program. After learning more about the invaluable service they provide to families here in our community, our staff chose Garfield EATS to be December’s Register Roundup Recipient. We know that kids who are fed have a better chance for both short term and long term outcomes in and out of school and we are proud to support their efforts.
As of December 16, 2025, shoppers have donated $422.42 in roundups and we are giving an additional $727.95 from First Friday which means that a total of $1,150.37 has been raised for this program so far. We hope to make it to $2,000 if we can! You can give by rounding up at the register any time you shop in December. And if you would like to give an extra dollar or more-just let your cashier know and they can adjust that for you.
Thank you for working together to support our community!
