May Food Drive

Join us in supporting the folks at Millennia Ministries and the important work they do to fight local food insecurity by making a donation to their Barrel of Hope Food Drive this May. Food Banks and Food Donation programs often see a sharp sharp decline in donations after the holiday season. Donating food this May helps stock shelves before the busy summer months, a time when food insecurity often rises and children miss out on meals from schools.

If you’re not familiar with this local nonprofit, their mission is:

“To end homelessness by providing housing instability advocacy, crisis, transition, and permanent supportive housing. Also, address and prevent food insufficiency barriers in our communities. To provide compassionate services as a source of dignity and hope. We stand for the empowerment of BIPOC individuals, single parent families, immigrants, seniors, and others by promoting the right to an equitable and equal belonging in our society. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, or gender identity, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.”

Donations of non-expired, non-perishable foods can be dropped off in our front end area during normal business hours (7 am-9 pm) throughout the month of May. Additionally, all donations collected in May through our “Take a Bite Out of Hunger” tags will go directly towards this cause. If you’re not familiar, this programs allows you to simply scan a tag to add a donation of $1 or $5 to your total.

Can’t donate right now? We can still support them by sharing this info with our friends and neighbors, helping to spread the word across our community. Learn more at their website here.

Thank you for working together with us to support our neighbors and the valuable work they do to keep our community fed and taken care of!
